Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 127
Tonikaku Kawaii Fly Me to the Moon 127
トニカクカワイイ 127
Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:
Nasa ponders why people fear the darkness. Elsewhere in the mansion, Hotaru and Jessie are freaked out at not being able to escape the pursuing Masakado entity. Outside, Hakase likes the screams she’s hearing. Shirogane and Haru discuss how well made Kaguya’s Masakado creation is.
Back inside, Nasa’s flashlight goes out while he and Tsukasa attempt to find Aya. Nasa panics, so Tsukasa calms him down. Nasa marvels how calm his wife is. She responds, reminding him that electricity is a relatively new invention.
Nasa continues to ponder the fear of darkness. He remembers his initial encounter with Tsukasa, and understands that the darkness reminds people of their mortality. As he continues to think, Nasa feels he’s about to remember something. Tsukasa reacts when Nasa recalls the sentence, “I will make your wish come true. I promise.”
Kaguya is in her control room and notices Tsukasa’s lack of fear. As such, Kaguya decides to ramp things up.
Thoughts/Review:
Man, I’m so far behind on everything any more. However, I managed to finally find time to read Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 127.
More Plot Tidbits
Hata-sensei is notorious for dribbling out tidbits of plot in the middle of other situations that aren’t seemingly related. For Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 127, Tsukasa reveals that while Nasa had trouble seeing without the flashlight, she could see pretty clearly. And she notes how electricity, and thus electric lighting, is a modern thing. So once again, we have that hint of her immortality.
Next, we have Nasa remembering his first meeting with Tsukasa. He mentions being on the verge of remembering something. And then he quotes something similar to what Tsukasa told him in his (memory?) dream in chapter 120. The imagery of a severely injured Nasa who came close to dying, combined with Nasa’s pondering death has lead me to a theory.
I’ve previously stated that I believe Nasa is a reincarnation of Miko-sama. Tsukasa is immortal. Nasa and Tsukasa had a previous relationship. Nasa died and Tsukasa made a vow to make Nasa’s wish come true. And throughout the centuries, she’s worked to make that dream come true.
But while Nasa doesn’t remember his past, the mental barriers blocking these memories are weakening. Thus he had what I believe was a memory dream in chapter 120. And he was able to grab a fragment in the current chapter.
That said, I look forward to seeing where this goes.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
It is past my bedtime (not that I’ll be able to sleep), so let me wrap up my review of Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 127 with some final thoughts.
- I don’t mind the ghost mansion story, but I have to say, it was the least interesting part of the chapter. It makes me feel bad for Hotaru and Jessie, who clearly are the only two in the group not in on the joke.
- We got confirmation that the Masakado armored “corpse” is a fake, controlled by Kaguya. I guess it will end up being some robot or the like.
- I still hope we get an actual supernatural event to scare the rest of the girls.
In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 127 was good when it came to teasing us with plot tidbits. But the rest of the chapter was kinda “meh”.
